30.07.2008 The Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia, the Criminal Law and Criminology Association and the Helsinki Committee of Human Rights expressed their concerns over the newly adopted changes in the Law on Criminal Investigation Procedures and the Law on Communications Surveillance (all forms of wire-tapping and interception) without the proper public debate that could lead to a sensible balance of the fight against organized crime and the right to privacy.

30.07.2008 Internet service providers in Serbia announce they will challenge in the Supreme Court the decision of the National Telecommunications Agency (Ratel) that providers are obligated to allow unrestricted access to their e-mail clients` databases to the Police and the Security and Intelligence Agency (BIA).

30.07.2008 Internet provajderi najavljuju upravni spor pred Vrhovnim sudom protiv odluke Republičke agencije za telekomunikacije (Ratel) da provajderi imaju obavezu da službama bezbednosti, odnosno policiji i BIA, omoguće pristup bazi podataka o korisnicima elektronske pošte bez ograničenja.

29.07.2008 Komitet pravnika za ljudska prava YUCOM osudio je divljanje ekstremističkih desničarskih nacionalističkih grupa na ulicama Beograda i prebijanje novinara na skupu podrške haškom optuženiku Radovanu Karadžiću, kao najozbiljniju zloupotrebu slobode izražavanja i javnog okupljanja.
